Early War is a milsim (military simulator) shooter videogame within the AAS (Advance-And-Secure) shooter sub-genre built and hosted on the platform Roblox. In the lore, the game takes place inside a disputed territory named Kastorian People's Republic (or KPR for short). The KPR was a territory in Eastern Europe disputed between 2 countries called Novoslaviya (Новаславiя) and Kuchkovia (Кучковия). The conflict in the region originally started when after the UESN (Union of Eastern Slavic Nations)/СВСН (Союз Восточно Славянских Народов) fell apart, due to the chaos and panic of the quick and aggressive collapse, the quickly, and badly drawn borders quickly backfired. The region of Kastoria, which is a large mix of Novoslaviyans and Kuchkovians, was split into 2 different parts, which was not taken as an answer by the Kastorian regional government and it's people, but Novoslaviya aggressively bit back, and came up with a plan to force the population of Kastoria to "convert" to Novoslaviyan. All Kuchkovian culture, language, symbolism, and everything else was strictly and aggressively banned, and the region quickly split apart, Kastorians spoke against the bans, and protests started all over the region, but because both Novoslaviya and Kuchkovia were still recovering from a very brutal collapse, neither could take much action, and Kastorian opposition grew. After years of protest and opposition, on May 29, 2015, the first shells landed in the capital of Kastoria - Belotorsk. Apparently, on the night before, at around 21:00, right in the middle of a violent protest in Kastoria's capital - Belotorsk, a dispute between a young delinquent and 2 military police officers quickly turned into a deadly scuffle, resulting in the death of the teen, to which Kastorian protesters responded with even more violence, the military police was commanded to evavuate the region and only 30 minutes later, the shells hit the city center, around where the protesters were. The initial shelling lasted roughly 46 minutes, used 84 shells, and took the lives of 71 civilians, 68 of which were ethnic Kuchkovians, and 13 people who weren't even involved in the protest. Novoslaviya argued that the shelling was justified in an attempt to fight against the sudden violent, overwhelming act by Kastorian protesters.
